Player props: betting on players, not teams
Not every bet is on the winner. Prop bets are on individual performances — how many strikeouts a pitcher gets, whether a batter hits a home run. VEKTORIUM has a whole page for them.
What a prop is
A prop sets a number for one player and you bet over or under. Example: 'pitcher over/under 7.5 strikeouts'. You don't need the pitcher's team to win — you need him to strike out 8 or more batters. Props are popular because they don't depend on the whole game.
Why the matchup matters
A strikeout total depends on the opposing lineup: a lineup that swings and misses a lot boosts strikeouts; a contact-heavy lineup lowers them. Home-run props depend on the pitcher's fly-ball rate and the park. The same pitcher can have very different prop totals against different teams.
Reading VEKTORIUM's props
The Props page combines the pitcher's stats with the opposing lineup's tendencies and shows a projection with a fair price. Compare that fair price to the best book price — the same edge logic you already learned applies to players too.
